EasyRoutes Product Updates - February 2024 📦

Since our last monthly update, we've been busy working on new features and improved functionality for EasyRoutes to help streamline your deliveries on Shopify. Here's a few of the highlights from February.

Your all-in-one local delivery app for Shopify

What's new?

❗️New Feature: Priority Stops

We've added a new feature that allows route planners to mark stops as Priority stops. When used in combination with certain Route Options that place limits on a route - such as max route duration, max items per stop or max stops per route - Priority stops will be given first consideration for inclusion in a route, better ensuring they're not excluded when route capacities are reached.

Stops marked as Priority will display in a manner that's clear to identify them on your Route table and stop list, with an outlined stop icon and unique badge when hovering over them on the route line or map:

Stops can be marked as Priority from the Add Stop or Edit Stop menus, or from the Actions menu when previewing a stop on the map; multiple stops can also be marked as Priority using the checkboxes on any Route page.  For full details on configuring Priority stops in EasyRoutes, see this support article.

⚙️ New feature: Order Import Automation

Our next new feature pairs with Priority stops by automating common route planning tasks when adding orders to routes. Once configured, orders containing matching order tags or customer tags will be automatically marked as Priority when adding them to a route:

Set up new automation rules from your EasyRoutes Settings > General tab, under the Advanced order automation rules section, or review this support article for further information on how rules work.

Stay tuned as we add new rules and outcomes to automate more common route planning tasks. Reply to this email and let us know if there are any specific tasks or outcomes that would help streamline your delivery workflows!

🛠️ Route Page Persistent Filters

We've updated the Routes page so that any applied search terms or filters will persist, even after viewing routes or clicking into another EasyRoutes page, making it easier to edit routes in a batch without having to manually re-apply filters:

Input any search terms and/or use the Add filter button to activate any combination of Status, Start date, Driver, or Created on filters; the list of matching routes below will update immediately. When you click into any of the routes displayed (or navigate elsewhere within EasyRoutes) and return to the Routes page, the same set of filters will now still be applied.

📦 New Packing Slip & Label Options

We've added an Additional instructions text input field where any custom instructions or information can be included on both packing slips and packing labels:

Configure these variables from your EasyRoutes Settings > Packing slips and labels tab, under the Packing label options and Packing slip options sections.

You can now also customize the placement position of these additional instructions and an order's total price and weight on packing slips. Select to position these variables in the packing slip's header, below the order's items, or both:

📖 Address Book Improvements

When saving stops to the Address Book, you can now also include that stop's preferred Time Window and Priority status. From the Actions menu (three dots icon) on any Address Book entry, select Edit address to configure these two stop settings from the Additional options panel:

Both of these variables will be permanently included in the saved stop's Address Book entry to streamline any future deliveries to that customer.

Other product updates
(👀 there's some good stuff in here!)

  • When exporting routes, you can now include a unique Route ID to differentiate between routes with similar or identical names.
  • Exports can also now include Billing name and/or Shipping name for orders where these names may not match (i.e. gift orders).
  • When planning routes with multiple Driver Tasks, you can now use the dragging handle to the left of a task's name to manually re-sort their order.
  • Custom items added to a stop now contain an Item weight variable, which will also be included in a route's total weight calculations.
