How is real-time driver location shown to customers?

Customer tracking pages can display an anonymized, live driver pin so recipients can see the driver’s progress as delivery approaches. Enable the option in EasyRoutes Settings → Order tracking, and use delivery notifications (email/SMS) to send tracking links automatically. When live location is unavailable (e.g., permissions off), the page still shows status updates and ETAs based on route progress.

Can I test the API in a sandbox environment?

While there isn’t a separate public sandbox, you can safely test in a non‑production environment. Create a test shop (Shopify) or an EasyRoutes for Web workspace with sample data, generate a dedicated API token, and point webhooks to staging URLs. Use draft orders or manual stops that contain your own contact info so notifications and tracking tests go only to your team. When your flows are validated, switch credentials and endpoints to production.

Will drivers get notified when assigned a route?

Yes. When you assign and dispatch a route, EasyRoutes sends the driver a push notification that opens the route in the EasyRoutes Delivery Driver mobile app. If the driver doesn’t receive alerts, confirm notification permission on the device and that the driver is added with the correct phone number. Drivers can also pull‑to‑refresh their route list to fetch new assignments.

Can I require drivers to start a route before tracking begins?

Yes. In both EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web you can enforce a start action. When a driver taps Start Delivery in the mobile app, EasyRoutes records the route start time and begins live location updates. This prevents drivers from completing stops out of context and ensures analytics include drive time from the route's start location. If a route must be paused, drivers can resume later to continue tracking.

Can I notify customers of delays with EasyRoutes?

Yes. In EasyRoutes Settings → Customer notifications, enable the Rescheduled template and customize the message and variables (date, window, tracking link, etc.). Trigger it when routes or stops move to a new day/time so recipients are informed proactively. This works for both Shopify orders and imported/manual stops across EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web.

Do SMS usage fees, prorated monthly subscriptions, and driver seats function the same way on the Shopify and Web platforms?

SMS usage fees and monthly pricing tiers are identical for both EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web, with the exception of our Free monthly pricing tier, which is currently only available on EasyRoutes for Shopify.  EasyRoutes for both platforms continues to offer a free 14-day trial of any pricing tier for new users to give a advanced features a test drive.  Both platforms function on the same driver seat model, where you only pay for the number of drivers that are active in your account at any time.

EasyRoutes for Shopify uses Shopify’s native billing tools for all subscription and SMS usage top-ups and monthly invoicing.  EasyRoutes for Web functions on the same principles, but uses an independent billing provider offering industry-standard security and encryption for all transactions.

Can I dispatch routes automatically?

Yes. Enable automatic dispatch so newly created routes with a scheduled start time are assigned and sent to the chosen driver immediately — no extra clicks. Use this for recurring daily runs or integrations that create routes programmatically. You can still edit or un-dispatch a route before start time if plans change.

See: Automatically dispatching a route

Can I track my drivers in real-time?

Yes. With Premium or Enterprise plans, turn on live tracking from EasyRoutes Settings → Driver settings. You’ll see a live GPS pin, breadcrumb path, current/next stop, and real‑time status updates on each route’s Tracking tab. Ensure drivers grant Always/Precise location permissions in the Delivery Driver app. Route Groups let you monitor multiple drivers at once.

Can I use the API to import external eCommerce orders?

Yes. The EasyRoutes Routes API accepts imported orders/stops (customer details, address, items, notes) so you can bring orders from non‑Shopify sources into EasyRoutes. After importing, you can create new routes, add the stops to existing routes, assign drivers, and dispatch. This works for both EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web and complements CSV import when you need automation.

See: EasyRoutes Routes API – Import Stops

Can I move orders between different routes?

Yes. From any route, use the checkboxes to select one or more stops, then click the bulk actions bar and choose Send to another route. You can also open a Route Group and drag stops from one route to another within the group. After moving, click Save and (optionally) Re‑optimize to update the stop order and ETAs. This workflow works the same in EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web.

Use this to balance workloads mid‑day, handle late additions, or consolidate leftovers onto a cleanup route.

Can I view missed delivery reasons?

Yes. Aggregate missed vs. completed counts appear in Analytics, and when a stop cannot be completed, the driver can select or enter a reason in the mobile app. Those reasons are recorded on the stop and visible to admins for follow‑up. Reviewing these notes helps you spot patterns — like frequent access issues at certain buildings — and take corrective action.

Use Analytics to quantify the impact over time, then drill into routes and stops to see the exact explanations and any attached proof (photos/notes). This behaviour is consistent across EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web.

See: Missed Delivery Reasons

Can I import orders into EasyRoutes from spreadsheets?

Yes. Upload a CSV to create stops with customer, address, and item details — even if the orders weren’t placed in Shopify. The importer supports line‑item fields such as quantity and weight so you can use vehicle capacity limits accurately. Once imported, these stops can be filtered, optimized into routes, and dispatched to drivers like any other order source.

See: How to import orders from CSV

Will EasyRoutes add tracking links to my Shopify orders?

Yes. Creating a fulfillment from EasyRoutes writes the EasyRoutes tracking number and URL to the Shopify order, so customers and support teams can track delivery progress. The link also appears in Shopify’s order status page and, when enabled, in Shopify or EasyRoutes notification emails/SMS. Tracking remains accessible even after routes are archived.

Do I need coding skills to connect WooCommerce with EasyRoutes?

You don’t need to be a developer to connect WooCommerce with EasyRoutes. Zapier provides no-code automation tools that let you push WooCommerce orders directly into EasyRoutes with just a few clicks. For businesses that want more control, the EasyRoutes API is available to build deeper integrations, such as syncing fulfillment statuses or creating custom routing rules. This gives you both no-code and pro-code options.

How do I edit a driver’s details?

Go to tDrivers & Vehicles, open the driver, and edit their name, phone number, or notes. If a phone number changes, update it here so dispatch and sign‑in continue to work. Drivers may also edit their display name inside the Delivery Driver app.

See: How do I change a driver’s name?

Can I integrate EasyRoutes with other business tools?

Yes. Integrate EasyRoutes with your existing stack in two ways: (1) programmatically via the Routes API to import stops, create/dispatch routes, and update status; and (2) event‑driven with webhooks and Zapier to push delivery events into Sheets, Slack, email, ERPs/CRMs, or custom endpoints. These options are available for both EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web.

How do I import WooCommerce orders into EasyRoutes?

Importing WooCommerce orders is straightforward. Using a plugin like WebToffee, you can export orders from your WooCommerce dashboard in CSV format. Once exported, you simply drag and drop the CSV file into EasyRoutes. The system will map fields like customer name, address, and quantity automatically, and you can confirm or adjust mappings before creating optimized delivery routes. This makes it easy to bring WooCommerce data into your delivery workflow.

See: WooCommerce Import Guide

How do I authenticate API requests?

API access uses tokens you create in your EasyRoutes account. Follow the Getting Started guide to generate a token, store it securely, and add it to requests from your server or integration platform. Tokens work the same way for both EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web. Rotate credentials periodically and avoid embedding them in client‑side code.

See: EasyRoutes API Getting Started Guide

Can EasyRoutes optimize multi-day deliveries?

Yes. For long runs or regional routes, create a schedule that spans multiple days. Set a start time/location for each day and include an overnight break so ETAs for day two (and beyond) reflect realistic service times. This works alongside capacity limits and time windows, and customer tracking will display the correct expected dates.

See: Overnight & multi‑day routes · Driver Breaks

How does EasyRoutes handle orders without a shipping address?

Yes. If a Shopify order arrives without a valid shipping address, EasyRoutes highlights it so you can fix the address before planning. Edit the order in Shopify (preferred for data accuracy) or add the correct address details to the stop in EasyRoutes, then refresh and route. For pickup orders, set the address to your store or pickup point so drivers and staff can see the correct location on the route map and in documents. Address completeness ensures accurate ETAs, navigation, and proof‑of‑delivery records.

Can I add proof of delivery manually from my web browser?

Yes. If a driver’s phone was offline or a photo needs to be re‑added, open the stop in EasyRoutes and upload PoD from your browser. The new items join the stop’s timeline with timestamps and appear in exports and tracking (subject to your visibility settings). This works across both EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web.

See: Manually upload PoD

Can I combine Wix orders with other platform orders in EasyRoutes?

Yes. EasyRoutes is designed to unify multi-platform delivery operations. You can import Wix orders and combine them with orders from Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or other sources. All orders appear in one dashboard, so you can generate optimized multi-stop routes across platforms. See: EasyRoutes for Wix

Does EasyRoutes add tracking links to Shopify orders automatically?

Yes. Fulfilling an order from EasyRoutes creates a Shopify fulfillment that includes the EasyRoutes tracking number and URL. Customers see the link on the order status page and in applicable Shopify notifications. If templates were heavily customized, you may need to ensure the standard tracking snippet is present.

See: Customizable Order Tracking Pages and Links

Can I auto-dispatch routes to my drivers?

Can I set specific start and end locations for my routes?

Yes. Configure a start location (e.g., your store, a local warehouse, or a driver's home base) and an end location (e.g., a depot, final stop, or loop back to the route's start location) on each route. These points are included in optimization and time estimates, so drivers see realistic drive times and customers receive accurate ETAs. You can set defaults in Route Options, then override per route as needed. For multi‑warehouse operations, create routes that begin near each inventory location to reduce deadhead driving. In both EasyRoutes for Shopify and EasyRoutes for Web, you can adjust these locations after route creation and re‑optimize to update the sequence and times.

See: Start/End Locations

Can I get started with EasyRoutes quickly?

Setup is quick: install EasyRoutes (Shopify) or sign in (Web), connect drivers, select orders with filters, and click Create route. Use the defaults for service times and route options, then print or dispatch to the driver app. Most trial users reach a working route within an hour, often faster with our step‑by‑step guide.

If you import orders from outside Shopify, start with a small CSV or a few manual stops to validate the flow before scaling.
